Andrew Cuomo announced casinos in New York will be allowed to reopen Sept. 9 after the COVID-19 pandemic kept them closed for several months. Jake's 58 in Islandia is among those that will finally be allowed to let people in as soon as Tuesday, but there are several conditions. Jake’s 58 has been among the most profitable VLT casinos in the state since it opened in February 2017. Last month it pulled in $346.7 million — its highest gross in the past 12 months.

Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel has reopened with 75 hotel guest rooms under the comprehensive program of new health and safety standards it has used to help keep guests and employees safe since reopening its gaming floor.

Please note: Guest must be 21 years of age or older to check-in to the hotel and 18 years of age or older to be an additional overnight hotel guest in the hotel and on the gaming floor.

The Play It Safe program encompasses Jake’s 58’s new operating procedures, which have been reengineered to minimize contact risk. It includes bolstered hygiene protocols to meet or exceed best-practice guidelines of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

For the hotel, guest rooms are being deep cleaned ahead of new guests checking in, with the housekeeping team cleaning and treating rooms with products formulated to eliminate viruses and bacteria. This includes door handles, hard-surface furniture, thermostats, remote controls and light switches. To help maintain social distancing, the staff is not entering guest rooms during stays of three nights or less.

Signage is featured in each room with a QR code that a guest can scan on their smartphone to call the front desk. Limited room service and takeout food and beverage will be available for hotel guests.
